Norman Maison is a privately owned property. We welcome contact by way of email – or a telephone call. Our contact details are included at the bottom of every page. Please take the time to carefully read our terms and conditions. These are important to both you, and to us. All bookings can only be accepted on the understanding that you have read, understood, and fully agreed to the terms and conditions below.
Deposit:
A non returnable deposit of £100 is payable on booking. If a booking is made 6 weeks or less before arrival the full rent is due at the time of the booking.
Final Payment:
A final request for payment will normally be sent to the applicants 8 weeks before the date of their holiday. Payment must be made in full 6 weeks prior to arrival date. Non payment by that date will be treated as a cancellation and the owners may re let the property without reference to the applicants who remain liable for the full amount although credit will be given for any rents received as a result of re letting, less the owners expenses. The same will apply to a cancellation within 6 weeks of arrival date.
Security deposit:
A security deposit of £100 may be charged at the time the balance of the rent is paid, to cover damage and breakages which will be refundable within 14 days of the vacation of the property as long as no damage has been incurred. If there has been damage or breakages the amount for repair will be deducted from the security deposit and if the damage be more than the security deposit the tenants will be liable.
Cancellation Insurance:
Applicants are recommended to take out holiday cancellation insurance.
Arrival & Departure Time:
The maison is available for occupation from 4:00pm on the day of arrival until 12:00 noon on the departure date. This allows the maison to be cleaned before the next guests arrive. The Owner cannot guarantee acceptance of an earlier arrival or later departure time request, however we will endeavour to do all that is possible to accommodate you.
Price changes:
The Owners reserve the right to amend prices quoted on the web site due to errors or omissions.
Method of payment:
Payments are to be made by cheque made payable to Alistair and Joy Shaw, or by BACS upon request.
Please do not send cash. Post dated cheques are not acceptable. Any charges raised against the owners by their bank for handling dishonoured cheque’s will be passed on to the applicants.
The Tenancy:
The tenancy confers upon the tenants the right to occupy the property for a holiday within the meaning of Schedule 1, Paragraph 9 of the Housing Act 1988.
Tenants’ Obligations:
To pay for any losses or damage to the property. All breakages are to be reported to the owners or owners representatives and will be paid for at replacement cost.
To take good care of the maison and to leave it in a clean and tidy condition at the end of the tenancy. Cleaning is not provided during the tenancy unless otherwise arranged with the owners.
To permit the owners or their representatives reasonable access to the property for garden work or essential repair work.

Complaints:
It is important that the tenant has an enjoyable holiday at Norman Maison, however in the unlikely event of a complaint or problem, the tenant must advise the owner or owners representative immediately, so that a fair opportunity is given to rectify any difficulties. No liability for any subsequent claim will be accepted on return from the holiday.
